Performing oral surgery can prevent various problems from developing in the future, and improve your immediate and long-term oral health.

Orthodontics

This branch of dentistry deals with diagnosing, preventing and treating irregularities in the face, jaw, and bite. Orthodontic treatments are both cosmetic and restorative, and help patients achieve straighter, brighter smiles. Contact our office today to find out how we can help you correct your smile.

Invisalign®

Invisalign® teeth straightening systems consist of series of custom-made aligning trays which gradually straighten the teeth. Invisalign, often referred to as clear braces, is an alternative to traditional braces, and has the added benefit of being virtually invisible to the naked eye. The trays are worn throughout the day and night and are removed when the patient is eating or brushing their teeth.

Dental Implant Placement & Restoration

If you are missing teeth, implants provide replacement teeth or dentures with a strong foundation. A dental implant consists of metal posts being surgically placed into the bone beneath the gums. These posts fuse with the jawbone and provide stable support for dentures or restorations.

Dental Crowns & Bridges

When the cusp of a tooth is broken, the tooth is severely damaged, or it has suffered from advanced decay, a crown is necessary to restore the health of the tooth. Crowns cover the remaining tooth and restore its function, esthetics and strength. A dental crown can be made from a variety of materials. The material used depends on the area of the mouth being restored.

Dental bridges can be utilized when a patient loses a tooth due to decay, injury, or gum disease. If a missing tooth is not corrected, it can create greater problems for your dental health. The teeth adjacent to the missing tooth (or teeth) can look unsightly and begin to move, resulting in discomfort, pain, and bite or TMJ issues. With dental bridges, your dentist will close any gaps in your mouth. A bridge looks and acts just like natural teeth and is permanently cemented to the adjacent teeth. This helps to maintain the correct positioning of your remaining teeth.

Veneers

Porcelain veneers are custom-made, thin casings used to correct discoloration, chipped, and misshapen teeth. Like composite fillings, a veneer is made with tooth-colored materials, and looks and feels like a natural tooth. A small amount of tooth enamel will typically have to be removed in order for veneers to fit onto your teeth. This makes the procedure often irreversible, so be prepared for a permanent, improved look to your smile.

Teeth Whitening

Teeth whitening is a simple, non-invasive way to enhance the brightness of your smile. Our dental healthcare team will help you determine which teeth whitening treatment best suits your needs and oral health.

Partial & Complete Dentures

All dentures are custom-made to look and feel like natural teeth. Receiving complete or partial dentures is a way for patients to restore a healthy, natural looking smile after losing some or all of their teeth. Complete dentures are used for patients missing all of their teeth. Partials are available to those who retain some of their natural teeth. Properly fitted dentures sit snugly and comfortably within your mouth and can help restore the ability to eat and speak. In addition, dentures can help prevent facial sagging and restore beauty and function to a patient’s smile.

Endodontics (Root Canal Therapy)

A root canal or endodontic treatment is needed when a tooth has been affected by severe trauma or an infection has reached the pulp of a tooth. The pulp is the living tissue inside of a tooth. To save the tooth and restore a patient’s dental health, your dentist must remove the pulp, bacteria, nerves, and any decay within the tooth. The resulting space is then filled with medicated material. This will restore the tooth to full function and save the tooth from dying. A root canal can also prevent costly dental problems down the line.

TMJ Treatment

If you experience pain or difficulty moving your jaw, you may suffer from an temporomandibular joint (TMJ) disorder. The temporomandibular joint holds the upper and lower jaws together. TMJ disorders can lead to a number of other issues for individuals including ear, tooth, and jaw joint pain. Joint dislocation, teeth grinding, and misaligned bites can contribute to TMJ disorders. There are a number of treatments for this type of disorder, including relaxation techniques, custom-fit oral appliances, physical therapy, or surgery, in some cases.

Custom Oral Appliances

A custom-made oral appliance can provide you with an effective treatment option for obstructive sleep apnea or snoring. An oral appliance is worn like a retainer or athletic mouthguard. It supports your jaw and helps you maintain an open airway while you sleep. This treatment option can restore your energy and improve your sleep. Our dental healthcare team will work with you to determine if this treatment is the right option for your sleep apnea or snoring.

Digital Radiography

There are many advantages to using digital x-rays. Digital radiographs use small sensors instead of traditional film, use 80-90% less radiation, and allow your dentist to view enhanced “x-rays” of your mouth and teeth. These images give us the clearest view of your tissues while reducing the amount of radiation you are exposed to.

Intraoral Cameras

An intraoral camera is a pen-sized camera tipped wand that your hygienist or dentist uses to examine your mouth and take digital images. These images are sent to and viewed on a computing unit, where your doctor can further examine your mouth. This tool gives you and your dentist an honest survey of your mouth and can show you how your at-home dental care is paying off.
